Many people think they need more equipment than they really do when they first start golfing. There are a lot of fancy gadgets that look fun to try but you won't need those until you've learned the game more. Until you've mastered the game basics, you won't benefit from those advanced pieces of equipment. Keep these important tools for beginning golfers in mind though as you pick out your perfect starter kit for the great game of golf.
A golf ball cleaning kit is a great piece of equipment to start with. It's surprising to see just how messy a golf ball can get on the golf course. While this may seem like a trivial matter, debris on your ball will affect how it flies towards the green and how it rolls once on it. Every aspect of your game can be impacted by having a dirty golf ball. Since most people can't afford to throw away their balls after every game and start with a new one, this inexpensive kit will help you save money and improve your game at the same time.
Having ball markers is also important.
If you play with a group of people, this is especially important. These markers are used to identify the place where your ball came to a stop on the green without interfering with the play of the others in your group. Golf etiquette states that the person whose ball is furthest from the hole plays first. This means that without a ball marker to mark your spot your ball could interfere with the play of the other ball or balls on the green. These inexpensive markers are necessary for a good game when playing with a group.
Finally invest in a solid set of beginner's golf clubs. Don't invest in the priciest set of golf clubs available when you're first learning how to golf. You do not yet know if you need steel shafts or flexible shafts. You also won't know what height will suit you the best. You won't even be able to determine if you need gloves to help you achieve better control or greater distance or if you need certain clubs to give you a bit of both. You'll see tons of golf equipment merchandise which allege they are the most wonderful for beginners. However, when you pick up these pieces of equipment at the get go you'll discover that there really is not much else you need in order to become familiar with the basics of the game. As your skills develop, you can start to obtain new pieces to add to your inventory for more assortment and potential in your golf game.
