Factors To Consider Ahead of Purchasing A Six Person Tent

When looking for a tent you will see that there are many options to choose from. This can become a very difficult choice if your not sure what to look for. However after gaining a bit of experience I have come up with a few main factors to keep in mind. After reading these tips you should be able to make a decision with no problem.

Deciding on what size your tent will be is the first thing you want to do. How many people do you think will be using this tent? The 6 person tent is designed to sleep 6 people. This usually holds true but depending on the age and size of your campers this could change. A rule of thumb I personally use is to think about how many people you have then add room for 1 to 2 more people. If you have 3-4 campers then you will probably want to go with the 6 person tent. By applying this you won't run across comfort problems. Another plus in having this extra space is you will be able to store your camping essentials without it being in your way.

Privacy should be another choice when choosing your tent. A 6 person tent usually comes with the option of either having 1 room or multiple rooms. If there are children, teenagers, and adults in the same tent you might want to consider leaning towards multiple rooms. It mainly depends on your situation and how much privacy you desire. In most cases you will want that extra privacy but if your daughter is bringing her boyfriend on your trip you might want to go with the one room tent. All jokes aside it will just depend on your situation on how you will figure out if you need extra privacy or not.

The tents weather tolerance should be your final concern. Come up with the places where you will travel and what kind of weather you might expect. Make sure to get a tent that can handle heavy rain, windy conditions, and whatever weather you think could come your way. Having decent ventilation in your tent is a goal you will want to achieve for those hot humid days. My 6 person tent is a three season tent and it handles spring to fall very well.

Now that you know what to look for when purchasing a 6 person tent you will be able to narrow down the many options you will come across. When it comes down to it the most important part of camping is your tent so you will want one that best suits your needs.
