Do you intend visiting the the UK this year? Looking for somewhere to stay? There are plenty of options for you to choose from and there are alternatives for every size of pocket.

Hotel Selection

There is a well organized hotel category, incorporating multi-national businesses such as the Abode and Jurys, and a variety of individual hotels across the country. Some of these are pricey and some are cheap. Calculate paying from £20 per night per person (cheap prices) to £500 or more per night, according to the level of luxury you desire. Prices change depending on the days you book (some give cheaper prices on less busy periods for example) or your location in the UK (urban centres are more pricey than the countryside and London and other capitals are the priciest places to stay).

The Serviced Apartment Sector

The past two decades have witnessed the the appearance of serviced apartment accommodation. Serviced apartments, like serviced apartments in Manchester, are for the most part situated in towns and cities. They normally supply not only a bedroom with an ensuite shower room like hotels, but also comprise a good quality kitchen with utensils and up to three bedrooms. If you are stopping briefly in a town or expect to explore a town or area extensively without requiring a fixed base to come back to during the daytime, this can be a suitable choice.

Cheaper Accommodation

For those on a budget, there are budget bed and breakfasts, hotels with special offers and youth hostels. Youth hostels are located everywhere throughout GB and Northern Ireland. They now serve self service buffet breakfasts which can include cooked English breakfast, sandwiches for lunchtime and evening meals which will certainly fill you up, as well as supplying a public kitchen where you can prepare food with other people staying. Situated in some of the United Kingdom's most beautiful rural areas, Youth Hostels are an eye-opening way to meet a great selection of people and to discover more of the UK than most overseas visitors. You don't have to be young use a Youth Hostel and there are private rooms with ensuite bathrooms in several hostels. Dormitory rooms are also available. Be prepared for bunk beds! You will receive a warm welcome, but no luxury! The idea is to get out into the countryside or town and to meet people: so no TVs, generally, but plenty of games for children, maps and tourist leaflets and fabulous walks guaranteed.
