The Brother DCP-9040CN is an outstanding multi-function printing and copying solution perfect for both small and medium sized offices. Its impressive features and extremely affordable price of under $500, makes it an ideal printer for anyone looking to get the most "bang for their buck" when it comes to color laser multi-function devices.
Features and Functionality
The Brother DCP-9040CN is an out of the box network compatible printer that has a 10/100 Base-T network card pre-installed and built in menu options to assist with the network configuration. Printing and scanning can be done on the machine itself and does not require a PC. The installation and setup of this printer is very simple. The time between unpacking the device and printing with it should only be a matter of minutes.
The printer holds 250 sheets of letter, legal and A4 size paper not including the 150-sheet output tray and a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) on top on the printer. The Brother DCP9040CN does not have duplex capabilities though and would require an upgrade to the DCP-9045CDN printer to obtain this functionality.
This model offers very fast printing speeds. The Brother DCP-9040CN can print an amazing 21 pages per minute (PPM) in both black and white as well as color. It even copies at 17PPM, making it the ideal printer for busy offices that demand fast printing and copying to manage the workload. This model also has a maximum output resolution of 2,400 x 600 dots per inch (dpi).
The printer comes with starter Brother DCP9040CN toner cartridges. The device is packaged with four standard capacity toner cartridges: Cyan (TN110C), Magenta (TN110M), Yellow (TN110Y), Black (TN110BK) that yield approximately 2,000 pages for the Black cartridge and 1,500 pages for the different color cartridges. High capacity cartridges (TN115C, TN115M, TN115Y, TN115BK) are also available and offer a lower price per print. These high capacity cartridges contain over twice the amount of toner as the standard capacity cartridges.
