Things To Look For When Picking The Frame Of The Treadmill
The two types of materials used for fitness treadmill frames are steel and aluminium. Steel is generally preferred in best treadmill construction, because it adds more weight to a treadmill, which results in a machine that does not bounce.
A normal argument for aluminium supporters is that it does not rust. However, a powder coated steel frame in a domestic or commercial application should not rust either. Consider this fact; the motor (one of the most important mechanical component) on an electric treadmill is made of steel. What advantage does an aluminium frame have, when the drive motor is steel? Folding Designs
A common misconception is that folding fitness treadmill should be avoided. Why would anyone feel fooled into such misconstrued argument? Folding treadmills offer consumers the choice of having more space when not in use. But, if you are looking for a serious quality manual treadmill and would like it to fold, then your choices are limited. Firstly, stand at the side of the treadmill and grab the handrail. Try to shake it from left to right and from front to back. The more lateral movement a treadmill has, then the more susceptible to breakdown it will have. Consider that the number one cause of damage to the computer (monitor) is vibration. When the treadmill vibrates a lot at the top, chances are that the computer will break down, that is if you do not get noxious first!
Avoid treadmills that fold at the front roller. This means that the pivot point is at the front roller. Finally, try to fold the treadmill and see if you are capable of doing it. Sometimes the treadmills are so heavy that the folding feature becomes disabled.
The guarantee on the frame should be LIFETIME! Do not purchase a treadmill with a frame warranty shorter than 10 years. Should a weld break, it will be in the latter years of the treadmill.
Overall Weight Of The Treadmill
The overall weight of the fitness treadmill should give you an idea about the quality of its components and of the frame. In most cases, the more substantial the fitness treadmill the better your chances of getting better quality components. Consider that MDF weighs more than chip board, larger rollers generally weigh more, steel weighs more than aluminum etc.
