Some Things To Take Into Consideration Before Investing In Large Camping Tents

A experienced camper will tell you how important it is to have the right size tent. Unfortunately I did not take this into consideration when I took my family of 6 camping with only a 4 person tent. I could write a book about this trip but I do not want make you as miserable as my family was on our camping trip. Lets just say it rained the whole time and we were packed like a bunch of sardines.

Deciding how many campers there will be using your tent is the first thing you want to do. Large tents usually cover 5 or more people. Having about 30-35 square feet of floor space per camper is a good rule to use. Height should not be a issue. Most larger tents will reach at least 6 feet.

Obtaining privacy is the next option to choose. Tents are pretty thin but having a divider or two can really make things feel more private. They have many different room options in large tents and most larger tents that are manufactured today come with built in rooms. You could have a room for mom and dad and a separate room for the kids. You could have different sleeping areas for different couples. Having a room just for your camping gear can make your sleeping and hangout areas more roomy. There are so many options to choose from you shouldn't have any problems with your privacy needs.

The good thing about large tents is that when the weather isn't ideal you can hide out and still be comfortable. Since camping is a all weather event you will need to get one that suits your needs. Get a tent that has a good weather rating so it can take weather conditions you come across. As you know the weatherman isn't always correct and you could be caught in a down poor when you thought it was going to be a clear and sunny day. With that said you need to know how your tent will be able to handle windy conditions, heavy rain, and other weather conditions depending where you are camping. Good ventilation should also be a factor to consider for the hot weather.

Knowing what options to choose when looking at large tents will greatly raise the experience of your upcoming camping trips. Camping is a moment for family and friends to bond while enjoying the outdoors.
