I have read many blogs and comments stating that Paintball is much better than Airsoft. I am wondering if the Paintball ONLY people have tried Airsoft Combat. I think if they try it they may make Airsoft Combat as one of their favorite competitive sports.
The sport of airsoft is a less expensive than Paintball, you can get electric and spring airsoft guns, green gas guns or Co2 guns from about $30 for a starter gun to $450 for the top of the line, die-hard competitor, where as paintball guns start out at about $100 and go up into the thousands to purchase. You can purchase 10,000 Airsoft 6mm BBs for under $18, you only get about 2,000 paintballs for around $50, ouch.
The equipment you need for paintball costs a lot more than what is needed for airsoft and is much heavier. The gear you need to carry the paintballs with you is quite heavy and awkward. It seems like it would be hard to sneak around. You definitely need eye protection for airsoft, but for paintball it is a good idea to have a full safely helmet. I you wear your everyday clothes to a paintball competition, you better know they will be destroyed by the paintballs, you should where paintball protective clothing. You can play airsoft with just regular clothes and nothing will be destroyed, just watch out for the bruises.
You can play airsoft in your backyard, in a friend's patch of woods, or at an airsoft course, you can also target shoot anywhere you have a little room. Paintball is a very messy sport, this is why you need to go to a paintball course, a lot of people don't like their houses and trees marked with different colored paint spots.
Paintball competitions don't last as long as Airsoft competitions either. Airsoft takes a lot more strategy to win, you need to think about every move you make because there may be a sniper waiting just out of your site. Airsoft wars are based on the honor system, when someone is hit they have to take themselves out of the game, there is no proof that they were hit. It is very obvious when playing paintball.
I am hoping that this article will encourage the paintball lovers to try Airsoft. You may become a fan of airsoft as well as a Paintball lover.
